Canada awards $18 million for aluminum auto parts and better battery management

The government of Canada will award $18.2 million to two companies to promote lighter vehicles and better battery management.
Auto parts manufacturer Astrex will receive up to $17 million to establish a facility that produces lightweight, high-strength aluminum components.

MAN to test electric semitrailer trucks with 9 Austrian companies

MAN Truck & Bus will be testing a prototype electric semitrailer tractor unit with 9 of Austria’s largest logistics companies, in partnership with the Council for Sustainable Logistics (CNL). The test vehicles, which have gross weights of 12 to 26 tons, will be used in medium and heavy distribution transport beginning at the end of 2017.

Symbio’s fuel cell range extender for the Nissan e-NV200 electric van

Symbio has integrated a 15 kW fuel cell range extender in a Nissan e-NV200 electric van. The new plug-in hybrid hydrogen vehicle will deliver at least 500 km of range. Symbio plans to introduce it to the European taxi market.
