US DOT finalizes “quiet cars” rule

By Charles Morris The US DOT has finalized rules that will require “quiet cars” (electrified vehicles) to emit “alert sounds” to warn pedestrians of their approach.
The long-delayed rules, which were mandated by Congress in 2010, will require electrified vehicles to generate sounds when moving at speeds of up to 18.6 miles per hour. …read more

Mission Statement

The Seattle Electric Vehicle Association is a non-profit, all volunteer association of electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts.

Our mission is to promote, the widespread adoption of electric vehicle through education, demonstration and advocacy.

SEVA is a registered 501(c) 3a and all donations are tax-deductible.
