My Honda (O'Sparkey) died...

I found that at least one of the brushes' spring clip gave way so it was not being held in place but just floating in the holder. also the two leads from the brush had separated completely from the brush here's a picture

Well the motor smoked itself on the way home one night last week... I found that at least one of the brushes' spring clip gave way so it was not being held in place but just floating in the holder. also the two leads from the brush had separated completely from the brush here's a picture

so my questions are these: where/how do I locate new brush(es) for this motor and what caused this to happen. Have I been running the motor too hot? it does not have an internal fan and it rated at 40deg C. I never turn on the external blower and don't really know how hot it has been running.

Beside frying the brushes and dirtying things up with soot and carbon what else might have happened to the motor? should I simply replace the brushes or look further?
