For a cold and rainy Fall night, it was a great crowd. Lots of new- comers eager to learn about batteries, motors, conversions, and EV Politics.

It seems I always forget something. Should probably be preparing Meeting Agendas from here on out. We did not review our successful EVvents at Clean Vehicles NOW, and Clean Energy Expo, and the EV Show in Tacoma at LeMay Musium, and the UW WashPrig student folks.. At Clean VEhicles Now, many of us got to meet the 2nd Man on the MOON, Buzz Aldrin, and ofcourse say "Hellow" to Mayor Nichols, and County Exec Ron Sims...

Good News: Our new member Jeff Finn has retained Dave Cloud to help him convert a Geo Metro into an Electaric for Jeff. Jeff has also taken additional orders for SEVA Name Tag Badges..

Thanks to Chuck Huckaby for making a DVD of the CBS Sunday Morning show on Electric Cars, and to Bruce Sherry for bringing a flat-panel TV and speakers so we could all watch it. Also on the same DVD was a replay of Bill Dube’s fateful Killacycle crash. Don Father Time Crabtree tells me that both Bill and the Drag Bike are OK..

We learned late in the meeting that Vijay Vaitheeswaran, an MIT-trained engineer and global energy and environment correspondent for The Economist, who was featured in the CBS program above, will be at the University Book Store, for a book signing and lecture Thursday Night, 10-12-70 at or around 7 pm. His new book is: ZOOM. The Global race to Fuel the Car of the Future. Check with the U-Book Store For Details...

John Frost was happy to receive two CD’s of a few dozen pictures of our members Electric Cars suitable for the 2008 SEVA Calendar. However, many of the pictures are lacking Names of the Owners and other data. He will be bringing Proofs to the next few meetings for clarification prior to Printing.

As we were leaving, one of our new members, a (not so) proud owner of a 4 door, 3 wheel ZAP Xerba told us he was locked out due to a door latch failure. One Coat Hanger, Two Flashlights, 3 SEVA members later, we were able to get the lock up and the door open. Thank You’s all around.

And lastly: As the Club has grown by leaps and bounds over the last year, it has become impractical to have our Christmas Meeting in a members home. Just too many folks. So we will be soliciting ideas for the December meeting at the November 13th meeting. See you all then...
