Roy LeMeur reported on the 62 Chevy  on Monster Garage, and some more detail on the Li-Ion batteries from Milwaukee Tool, that were used…. All 384 of them.  Seems they have a miniature controller built into the battery module, limiting the output current to 30 Amps.  For the race car, those modules were modified by Milwaukee Battery Engineers to put out 100 Amps per module. WOW !  Ryan Fulcher our Web Guy, has purchased 2 modules ( in the most economical way possible, which is to purchase a 28V. Flash Light/battery/charger combo for $200. )  He is going to experiment with them on one of his scooters.

Steve had a request to elaborate on his trip to Canada.  Obviously at the Wonderful Christmas SEVA Party, hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Mark Dodril…. Most attention was given to the Monster Garage Project As it well should have been. But a lot of what went on in Vancouver was given  a short shrift.  Now as a month has passed, the memory fades… Steven feels that the Club is right to expect to get more detail for their generous donation to the cause.  In 40 words or Less… the most significant factor is just  that we were there, represented, and believe me…  When it came to questions  HARD questions,  Steven’s HAND was UP, and UP again…recognized.  To such a point as to get  comments from the head of GEM/Chrysler….”  I appreciate the questions you have been asking “ Now  THAT alone is worth the $900.  Steven spent out of his own pocket !!  The Bottom Line, is this…. Gas and Diesel and even Gas Hybrids, are not going to stem the Tide of World Demand for OIL.  It has to be augmented  By Renewable energy, and BEV’s or PHEV’s….    And hearing THAT from the likes of all the Big  Shots at this meeting is GOOD NEWS…..

Our monthly meetings are held at the Church of the Nazarene above the Mosaic Community Coffee House.

Join us at our SEVA Meetings

Unless otherwise posted here, or sent out over the SEVA Maillist each Monthly Meeting is Held on the Evening of the Second Tuesday of each Month commencing at 7 p.m. or there about. Meetings are held at the Church of the Nazarene at 44th St. NE, and 3rd Ave NE, just behind Dicks Drive In on 45th. Their fire damage has been repaired, and they welcome us back. We encourage visitors and members to help support this free venue with the purchase of some fine coffee and other refreshments downstairs at the Mosaic Community Coffee House.

Every one is welcome. One does not have to JOIN to come to the meetings, however by joining officially for $39 a year, you become a member of the National Electric Auto Association and receive their news letter called Current EVents. The news letter alone is worth the annual dues, but we at SEVA receive in return a small portion of each EAA dues in our area of jurisdiction. We are a non-profit organization under the 501C3 umbrella of the EAA. See the EAA Page for a map of other chapter meeting locations.
