Good morning campers.

Amy Woodruff (an Edward Jones financial advisor, amy.woodruff@edwardjones.com ) presented a few ways to invest in green investments. She shared a mutual fund called Calvert Global Alternative Energy Fund.

Sonny Patulot and Michael Nguyen work with solar-, wind-, and hydro-powered electric vehicle charging stations (yes, all three at the same time). They just opened a charging station in Renton at their new office. See their website at http://www.greenergyglobalcorp.com

A few people have things for sale. Chuck Parrish has a 2007 ZENN for sale, contact him at chuckparrish2009@gmail.com

Roger Wright introduced the Electric Transitions Development, which trains electric car mechanics (among other things). They have a six-hour introduction shindig for $10 with lunch, with the author of the book Volt and John Wayland presenting. It's occuring twice, July 29th and July 30th, 9:30-3:30 both days, over in Kent.

Stephen Johnsen took a trip down to California with his (electric) Fiero. He was racing at Laguna Seca with tons of other electric cars and showed off a rather interesting slide show of his race. He had an in-car video of the race as well, including driving off the track into a pool of gravel :).

Your loyal secretary, Cory

THANKS Cory, as always a big weight off my shoulders having someone write the meeting minutes.

Would like to add. We had 9 ...NINE Nissan Leafs attend the meeting this evening. Should have taken note of all the names and numbers.. But CONGRATULATIONS to all the new EV Owners... to be sure.

We had some special gusts and I should make note here.

First and foremost... The founder of Cafe Electric, and Engineer and creator of the Zilla Controllers Oat... or Otmar E. ( I should have the spelling of his last name on file, but I trust if I tried to put it down here I would embarrass myself even more that the fact that I do not know it by heat here.

He is now living in the Pacific NW and working very closely with another EV legends, Rich Rudmand, of Manzanita Micro and their famous Chargers.

Then there is Father (Don Crabtree) Time... one of the founding fathers of the National Electric Drag Racing Association. It was GREAT to have all these folks in ONE Room, with ONE focus... Electric Transportation !!!

Several EV-ents were brought up which should be repeated here.. ( hopefully in order...)

  • July 27th.. Maple Leaf Neighborhood gathering
  • July 29th and 30th Roger Wright, Tom True, and the Electricians Union Gala Opening and seminar with Yours Truly, James Billmaier author of JOLT, and John Wayland of White Zombie Fame...
  • August 6th, Planet Home EV bicycles being sponsored by Sustainable N.E. Seattle
  • August 26-28 Renton Solar Fest
  • September 11th Lake Forest Park Enviro Fair
  • September 24th MOVING PLANET a multi-venue Enviro Fair

One of our old members, J.P.Penescue, donated a very nice high-tech Electric Lawn Mower which needs some work but has 3 modes, 120AC on the Cord, 60V DC Cordless and Battery Charge. It went to a gentlemen who bid $100. to the SEVA Treasury. Thank You J.P. and Bruce Sherry for doing the 'leg work'.

Hope you can all make the Shoreline Solar Fest.. I will be round the pool, with a French Baguette, and a bottle of French wine in my other hand in Provence France... sorry....! ! ! ! lol ;-)

Back to the SEVA business on the 25th...

As always, any one and everyone are invited to ADD their 2 CENTS or corrections.

See you all soon, or at least by the August 9th Meeting.
