If there are more than one event on a given day, then make the == Header == at the top of the page include a short description of both events so that they will both appear in the summary for that day. Then create two or more === Sub Headers === (Notice the 3 = signs instead of 2) for each separate event on that day.

{{EVents}}[[Category:EVents]]
== First EVent & Another EVent Also ==
=== First EVent ===
First Event details and description text goes here.
===Another EVent Also===
Details for the another event also go right here.

You can also add ==== Sub Sub Headers ==== for an event if there is a lot of information for that event, perhaps someone might want to add a ==== Photos ==== section. The simplest way to add photos is to upload them to the site (you may need to ask for an account to do this). Take a look at the Photos page for a list of EVents that had photos added.

Then just list them in a gallery block.

Additional [[Category:]] tags can be added to the top of the page, we do not use many categories at the moment, but they help to organize pages and help visitors find related pages. For example there might be a Tesla Category and any event with a Tesla at it could have the Tesla category.

Wayland Invitational III

NEDRA Electric Drag Racing- Wayland Invitational III 7/13/07 and 7/14/07 at Portland International Raceway - 6PM till Midnight.

In addition to many other electric racers, we are pleased to have both the quickest EV in the world and the quickest street-legal EV competing at this event.

They are:

  1. The "KillaCycle", the world's quickest electric vehicle.
    8.168 seconds @ 155.74 mph in the quarter mile.
    Vehicle Owner- Bill Dube'
    http://www.killacycle.com
  2. The "White Zombie", the world's quickest street-legal electric vehicle.
    11.948 seconds @ 109.75 mph in the quarter mile.
    Vehicle Owner- John Wayland

At this event, the White Zombie will, for the first time, be using the extremely powerful and lightweight Lithium-Ion batteries used by the KillaCycle. These batteries will shave hundreds of pounds off the car and should produce show-stopping acceleration.

Come and see EVs beat gas cars at their own game on the dragstrip. NEDRA racers spend pennies recharging their vehicles between rounds and our vehicles run quicker and faster as the batteries warm up during the charging and discharging process. There will be a good variety of race vehicles, conversion EVs on display, electric bikes and scooters.

For additional information on this event please contact Roy LeMeur or visit http://www.nedra.com. See electric drag racing videos at http://www.plasmaboyracing.com

July 13-14 '07 'Wayland Invitational III'...The races begin Friday night at 5:30 - 6:00 depending on when PIR opens the gates to the track and run until midnight. Saturday morning we all meet up at the Village Inn restaurant at 10301 NE Stark St. (corner of NE 102nd Ave & Stark St.) for the 'Electric Breakfast' & show & tell car show from 9:00 - 12:00 noon. Afterwards all are welcome to hang with the EV racers at the Wayland EV Juice bar for a bit of crazy wrenching-repairing-prepping of the electrics for Saturday night's racing action...same time, same place (PIR 5:30 at the gates). This year's races are the best ever, with Bill Dube and his racing team coming to Portland with Killacycle, the world's quickest electric vehicle. Powered by A123 Systems lithium Ion batteries. Bill is loaning his spare bike pack for use in White Zombie. Bill and his team are shooting for the 7s, while the 700 lbs. lighter lithium powered Zombie shoots for low 11s!

Post EVent

Per Dave B.

Steve et al,

White Zombie and Killacycle both running identical packs of 910(?) A123 batteries at the races were in a word, AWESOME... and I don't usually use that word... I'm sure John will be posting a full detailed account. On the final run sunday nite WZ did an 11.46 and immediately was thrown off the track and barred from further racing until it has a roll cage, and other trappings required for the 11.5 and under capable cars. Killacycle turned an 8.1something friday nite and some 8.2's saturday. I don't know if that set the record.

I took lots of pictures and video clips as did others (Steve J) however in my sleep deprived state sunday morning I ended up deleting my saturday nite movies from my computer arrrrrgghhh! but I may have backups saved somewhere.. sometime today I'll try to get what I have up on the web...

Here's a really good, slightly embellished account of the wkend by Mark Fowler an Australian on sabatical in Alberta who came down with his 10 year old son especially for the Wayland Invitational. pictures, movies and narative all very entertaining..

cheers,
dave b.
