There have since been many new developments in electric bicycles. There are so many choices for potential owners that it's easy to get overwhelmed. Do you want to buy a purpose-built bike, install a conversion kit, or build the whole thing from scratch? What about motor, batter, and power controller selection? Do you want a pedal-assist system, power-on-demand hybrid, or a dedicated electric motorcycles?  What are the local ordinances governing the use of electric bikes?
