Another apology from "Captain Electric" for getting to the meeting LATE..Thats ME.

We had more than 24 folks show UP, and again it was good to see NEW FACES, or folks we do not se often..

Discussions ranged from, Car-Train ideas for mass-transit, that is trains that carry small electric cars from station to destination, thereby allowing occupants to keep their privacy, and their personal transportation with them... Also LOTS of lively discussion about the results of the Electric-Lazy-Boy Chair races, with a WONDERFUL video show thanks to Chuck Huckeby... Also I brought in an article from Bill Moor's EV World on "Hacking" the Honda Insight Hybrids for MORE Electric Drive Power, where the operator controles EV Boost, and EV Re-gen. Mike Dabrowski has a discription of his MODS at: WWW.InsightCentral.net

I brought up a reoccurring challenge: As gas prices continue to rise, and general knowledge of world oil shortages and heated DEMAND continue, I feel that radio interviews will ramp up, EV-ents will rise, and more and more NEW members will be coming to our meetings looking for relief. And for most, it will probably mean a 2 or 4 passenger compact car, with some freeway capability, and costing less than $15,000. Will we be able to GIVE them anything ??? It will take something more user-friendly, and trouble-free than most conversions we now have. THAT IS OUR CHALLENGE.

Speaking of Radio Interviews: Tune your FM dials to KMPS 94.1 on the morning of October 23rd, Sunday. Sometime between 7am and 8am we will be ON THE AIR talking Electric-Car-Speak !!

As I have written some time ago.. I will be out of town on the 22nd of October visiting my son, and will not be able to be with you all at this Seattle Parks Dept EV-ent. Probably should have ONE PERSON step forward and help co-ordinate. ( ANY VOLUNTEERS ??? ) As I read Jennifer's e-mail, it looks like she JUST wants ONE E-Mail showing HOW MANY cars.. for each ORganization..
