Thanks to everyone who participated in Seattle Parks and Recreation's April Alternatively Fueled Vehicle Rally!
October 22nd from 9:30 am-2 pm, Seattle Parks is again hosting an Alternatively Fueled Vehicle Rally, this time, at Greenlake. We'll be using the small lot near the boat house on the South Side of the lake. There is somewhat limited parking there, so registration for the even will be important. Please take a minute to send the following information to daveb(at)drizzle.com.

As in years past, you are welcome to bring your vehicle but cannot sell anything on-site or test drive the vehicle. You're welcome to bring literature with you and to start vehicles to demonstrate. Please email us if you have questions. I know that this is a little early to advertise for October, but I'll be gone this summer working on a special assignment, so am trying to get a jump on it. Thanks again for your participation! Green Lake’s Alternative Fuel Vehicles "Rally"
Gas prices in the state of Washington are the highest in recent history. Interested in learning about alternatives to a gas-guzzling SUV? Come to the Alternatively Fueled Vehicle Rally outside of the Green Lake Small Craft Center, Saturday, October 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place on the south side of Green Lake, outside of the small craft center and the golf course.
The “rally” will feature a variety of alternatively fueled vehicles from independent companies. Electric cars, bicycles, and trucks, and natural gas-fueled vehicles will be on view. Local industry representatives and City staff will be on hand to discuss the advantages to using fewer gasoline-dependent vehicles and answer questions.
Motor vehicles are the primary source of air pollution in the central Puget Sound region. About 60 percent of the region’s emissions of the greenhouse gases that accelerate global warming come from tailpipes, and about 70 percent of the toxic air pollution is from diesel emissions from trucks, buses, ships, and other sources.
The City of Seattle is a national leader in the integration of alternatively fueled vehicles into its fleet. Seattle Parks and Recreation, one of the city's largest departments, uses more than 60 "clean" cars, trucks and bikes. The alternative fuel event is part of the park’s efforts to educate the public about being responsible stewards of our natural environment.
