Hi,
This is my first restoration on a GMC 1955.1 it is lots of work and I want to do it right from the first time.  I want it EV with a small gas generator to recharge the batteries if needed out in the country.  I would like to use the truck as intended (to pickup supplies….) can someone gives me some ideas on what size, and make motor, AC or DC (cost is important) also is there a step by step guide-line on the form?

Mike

Where are you - I am in Seattle.  I think we need to talk.  I am in planning / stuffing piggy bank with pennies to convert a 56 Chev 1/2 T.

Progress so far
Have truck pretty good shape
Have motor 50 HP Leeson 3600 RPM 3 phase.   cost 229 at Boeing Surplus

Next effort set up a shop more than likely in South Park.

Inverter Hitachi SJ 300 - cost about 4400.
Batteries more than likely wet lead acid.

Keep an eye on Boeing Surplus for motors yesterday 40 HP 1800 RPM went for 200 - so far VFDs are all 480 and too small.
