I like First Solar because I think they have the technology to make them a low cost producer of solar cells.   They do not sell directly to residential users.  Their design works particularly well in cloudy weather.

If you own their stock you must be doing well...I read yesterday that it has gone from around 90 to 280 in less than a year...

Solar Power Community Purchasing

You can sign up on their site, and join a community group buy on solar installations. A San Francisco buy recently saved them 48% off list using this.

Rebates:
Federal: 30% Federal tax credit with no cap.

State: Seattle is different than most states that have renewable energy incentives.  Instead of giving you a cash rebate or tax break for installing solar, Seattle pays you handsomely for the electricity you generate.
