Just found this image of an old electric Peugeot:

Found more info on this page: http://www.histomobile.com/1/Peugeot/1940/VLV_electrique_.htm?lan=1
"Produced between 1941 and 1945, this vehicle powered by an electric engine can transport two people at a maximum speed of 36 km/h. Four 12 volts lead-batteries connected in series and weighing 160 kg give an autonomy of 70 km."

It's kind of amazing just how many production electric vehicles there were over the years.  I like the looks of this one.
