Lots of technical stuff, but still missing one thing...
Hands on experience, still all based on press releases.

I am very interested to see if EEStor can live up to it's hype. It's a great idea, and it apparently has the technology to back up the claims. If it is as good as it sounds, I think one of the oil companies will buy them out, and either suppress or delay the technology, or charge so much for it's use it would reap incredible profits...that they are accustomed to.

One thing has me puzzled...Just what are the car companies charging us for when we buy a new car? Certainly not the overly complicated Internal Combustion Engine. They are selling Prius', with a complicated electric and gas powered drive train, for about 22k. This is with a small battery pack. So why can't they take out the ICE, and replace it with the same amount of money in batteries...If it's just a $1000 engine, and they could only put in 1k worth of batteries, then my question is...if the most complicated part of the vehicle is 1k, why do they charge 20k for one? Is the rest of the car worth 20 times the cost of the engine? Honestly, if you buy a new car (anyone), take out the engine (completely)...what is it worth? The value would drop for a 20k car at least to 12k, imo. Who pays more than that for a car that not only does not run, but has no motor at all? I think the car companies are ripping us off so bad...and I fear that it is the subsidies from the oil companies that are doing it. Or the service parts from dealers. I do understand why it can cost SO much more to build an EV than a Hybrid, or even a gas car.
