The Transportation Implementation Working Group just concluded its work and produced its report. Among its recommendations is a strong emphasis on vehicle electrification and PHEVs and EVs.

Their recommendations include: Directing DOL and DOR to develop options that decrease the up-front cost of purchasing PHEVs and Evs; extend and expand tax exemptions for EVs; increase the GVW of "medium speed electric vehicles" to 4500#; explore the potential for six-plus EV vans for van share or shuttle programs; provide funds for EV demonstration projects; and integrate EVs into the electric power system.

I think these recommendations will carry some weight in the upcoming legislative session--and within the Obama administration.
