I find myself often emailing our politicians about all things EV or Greenhouse Gas in general.  Here's a partial list:

Governor Christine Gregoire: http://www.governor.wa.gov/contact/default.asp

Senator Patty Murray: http://www.murray.senate.gov/contact/contact.cfm

Senator Maria Cantwell: http://www.cantwell.senate.gov/contact/index.cfm
Maria Cantwell is on the transportation committee which I think makes her a particularly good contact for all things EV

King County Exec Ron Sims: http://www.metrokc.gov/exec/

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels: http://www.seattle.gov/mayor/

I am surprised to see just a handful of people have read this thread so far. I guess the old saying is true - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

I would like to take the time to post below, the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association Mission Statement:

The SEVA mission is to Educate, Demonstrate, and Proliferate electric vehicles.

It is the sincere hope of the members and officers of the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association to help and aid in the EDUCATION of the general public as to the desirability and availability of electric transportation in all its forms, from commercially available cars and trucks, to conversions, to Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, to electric boats, bicycles, and motor bikes, and that through our free association we would help every one and any one in their own quest for knowledge and experience in this area.

It is our deep conviction that this can be done through DEMONSTRATION of these vehicles in static shows and exhibits, rallies, and in all forms of on-road competition and racing.

That through these efforts PROLIFERATION of these vehicles will come about, thereby lowering our dependence on foreign oil, and reducing the degradation of our environment through pollution.

Listen up folks, if we don't take action, who will? I have applauded Jimad for this post, and I would encourage others to take a little time and be a part of this community, the SEVA community, one that is working for change, supporting each other, and make the world, a little better.

Yes, I second that, I think it's great that Jimad wrote the post.  It's obviously important to make our state persons aware of some of the climate control options they have.  Who knows, maybe someone will get ahold of Gregoire, Murray, or even Obama and start a government subsidy for super large scale building or buying lithium poly or lithium ion here in WA.....  And although Government subsidies usually turn bitter if they weren't rancid in the first place this is one I would vote for.
