CARB Amendments to ZEV Regulation

This morning, I received the following email from the California Air Resources Board with the text of their proposed changes to the California Zero Emissions Vehicle Regulation and the link to send feedback on the proposal.

The Air Resources Board has posted the 15-Day Notice of Public
Availability of Modified Text and Modified Text for the 2008
Amendments to the California Zero Emission Vehicle Regulation.
These documents and the associated "formal" regulatory materials
can be accessed from our website at the address:

The modifications are open for public comment until August 15,
2008.  Please submit any comments here:

Type I, II, III, IV, and a proposed type 1.5 ZEV? How about this, either it's a ZEV or it ISN'T! I was getting a headache trying to follow all of this. I hate to complain (sometimes) but maybe it's time to wipe the very complex and convoluted slate clean and get back to basics where CARB is concerned.
