Does anyone have any ideas to get my company to let me use a standard 120V 15-20A outdoor outlet?  I have tried asking nicely for 4 months.  But Facilities states that there isnt enough users requesting EV plugins to make sense and its a liability.  This to me doesnt make any sense if no one sees that it can be done who is going to ask for it?  I have always said lead by example and I would really like to drive my new EV pickup into work.  The vehicle has a range of 35 miles and my commute one way is 26 miles.  So I must charge somewhere near work in Bothell.

I even told them they can install a meter and I would pay for any installation cost.

I guess I really dont see how this is any different from the computer I plug in at work.  All of is UL listed.

Thanks, JH

I to have had this same issue with no current resolution foreseeable.  I have tried the "It's good for the environment"; "It could be partially paid for through grants"; and "It could be paid for by the using employees".

I would recommend looking into the ChargePoint http://www.coulombtech.com/system.

Hi I'm new. I've seen this same situation in the news here in the LA area. Same thing, person wants permission to charge at work. The business attitude was it would be the same as paying for his gas. How illogical. He even compared the costs and was willing to pay, but I think it was to avoid conflicts with other employees wanting equal consideration. If that's the argument then there must be a workable situation you would think. I work in construction and had the idea of using the spider boxes if I had a conversion since I usually park close to my work area with power near by and no one would care. Sorry this isn't any help.
