   *  It's a 1987 Ford Escort Wagon, converted to electric by Solar Electric Corp. in 1993. 
   * All of the electrical equipment is original.    
   * Converted by Solar Electric Corp. In California - no longer in business, but I was able to track down some former employees now working for Zap. 
   * It was adapted to the original 5-speed manual transmission. 
   * 108 volt system (18 6-volt golf cart batteries, Trojan 105s). 
   * On-board charger with a high or low amperage-draw setting that feeds off of normal 110v household current. 
   * Only maintenance is watering the batteries and the occasional fuse change.
   * 125,000 miles on the car itself - approximately 30,000 miles on the electric components since 1993 - 400 miles on the batteries. 
   * The car is at our place on the Long Beach Peninsula and I am Located in Bellevue.
   * 26 Hp GE motor
   * standard tires
   * CD player/stereo
   * No regenerative braking
   * Equipped with heater
