GREEN FESTIVAL was discussed.  April 12th and 13th.  Our 10’ x 10’ booth was negotiated down to $715. and the expense is going to be shared with Plug-In-America, a nation wide org. which spun off from the EAA and the “Don’t Crush.org”.  We will be paying $225. and PIA will pick up the rest.  So a BIG  THANK YOU goes out to their generosity.  Also during the Festival, none other than Chelsea Sexton from “WKtEC” will come to Seattle to participate in an Electric Car panel discussion, with my self and other local Alt. Vehicles Experts.  Our very own Daniel Davids is their Treasurer, and he gave a brief report on National goings on.  Mainly that California is still backing away from strong EV mandates and legislation, and that PIA will be staging many demonstrations and rallies to PUSH for more EV favorable legislation in the Golden State, which by default has a lot of ripple effect throughout the rest of the nation.  He also brought some Wonderful New EV Charging Station signs… white on blue with the EAA Logo and the words “ PLUG-IN electric Car Parking ONLY” or something close to that….Several were SOLD on the Spot.  $20. each. Call Daniel at: 696-0052.

We encourage visitors and members to help support this free venue with the purchase of some fine coffee and other refreshments downstairs at the Mosaic Community Coffee House.

February 12th 2008 Meeting

Could not have Dreamed a few years ago that over 70 ( Seventy) people would show up on an cold and rainy February night to talk about Electric CARS ??? I was blown away.

We had a more organized format, with time constraints put on some of our long winded speakers, to give us time for the “Break Out” sessions on the Main Topics, such as Conversions, and Technical. It seemed to work fine.

New Business we had Jennifer from “Green My Ride” an environmental Fair being put on by the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Saturday, April 26th. They seem very accommodating, and so far we have 3 folks interested in participating. Please let me know and I can ADD you to their sign-up sheet.

Jim Johnson from MC EV came and spoke about his wonderful experience behind the wheel of the ( yet to be released) Miles XS500 Sedan. A Free Way capable Electric Sedan, which will hopefully be fully DOT Certified and sell for under $40,000. With 80 mph, 100+ miles of range, Sun Roof, 5 passenger.. Just what we need to really jump start electric vehicle acceptance. Call MC EV at 206 328 1750 to reserve you order.

Dave Cloud put some more FLESH on his idea for a EV Rally and Long Distance Contest come Saturday May 10th, 2008. The folks at Interstate Battery in South Everett have donated their warehouse, and parking lot for a staging area. Dave will need a Host of Volunteers to pull this off. Please contact him at 425 788 9293. He is going to put up nearly $500. of his own money for prize money. And others are encouraged to do the same. Different routs for different cars, is just one of the little details to be worked out.

Rich Rudman brought an extremely well engineered battery box, with Thunder Sky Li-Ion Batteries and circuitry for BMS to show-n-tell, for installation in Plug-In-Prius’s Between the Cells, and the 4 battery trays, and the enclosure, and the BMS electronics, and HUNDREDS of hours of very clean engineering and workmanship, the unit is close to $19,950. Mainly because some one back east bought up all the Rights to import the Thundersky batteries, and immediately doubled their price. Ouch!

Brief discussion of the KUOW Radio Interview, Friday 2/8/08, which for any one who missed it is on their web site and achieves at http://www.kuow.org/programs/weekday.asp?Archive=2-8-2008. Our Web Site GURU, Ryan did an inquiry as to HITS on our SEVA sight, and Friday, 2/8/08 inquiries DOUBLED their average. The power of the MEDIA.

Discussion are a foot with the folks at Mosaic Coffee House to use the very large room up stairs in the main part of the Church for future SEVA meetings. This should be our next step I feel.

We initiated the Raffle/Dues Game and brought in a hansom sum of $60 to our modest treasury. I am sorry I did not catch who won the raffle. But needless to say.. “Congratulations” and Thank You to all who contributed when the ‘hat was passed’.

EAA Members can participate in a Nation Wide Conference Call-In this Saturday, 2/16/08 from 10 am till noon. Here is how to participate:
